Upcoming Events

Hi students and parents,

Happy New Year!  It was great seeing everyone at the meeting last night.

We have some interesting service activities and events we are planning for the remainder of the school year.

Please review important updates and information below and note that we are requesting responses to the June weekday survey, confirmation of the CCD teaching dates and the family formation survey below.

Participation in the three events will be considered as service hours and points can be applied to the June trip, as well as any required service hours for high school.

Meeting Dates

Meeting dates for the remainder of the year are below  (and will be sent through Google calendar as well)

• Changed to February 5 (beginning at 5:30 pm to socialize and 6-7:20 PM is the meeting with mass to follow)
• March 5 (beginning at 5:30 pm to socialize and 6-7:20 PM is the meeting with mass to follow)
• April 2 (4 PM-we realize it is Palm Sunday- information below re: Living Stations Event to take the place of the monthly meeting)
• May 21 (beginning at 5:30 pm to socialize and 6-7:20 PM is the meeting with mass to follow)

Teaching CCD Class

The students put together a lesson plan to teach to a CCD class.  Outlined below are the dates they selected.  Parents, please confirm if those dates work for your children.  If they do not, please reach out to Pat or to me to reschedule.  Additionally, if your child did not attend the meeting last night but would like to teach a lesson, please reach out to Pat or to me and we can make arrangements.

• Chengli and Maria- teaching on Sunday, 1/22 from 9-9:50 am (7th grade)
• Harrison and Summer- teaching on Sunday, 1/22 from 9-9:50 am (8th grade)
• Andrew and Charlotte- teaching on Wednesday, 1/25 from 3:30-4:20 pm (changed from 2nd grade to 1st grade.  Will follow 15min lesson that Mrs. Giedlinski is giving)
• Leo, Carina and Paul- teaching on Sunday, Changed to 3/12 from 9-9:50 am (first grade- 1B)
• Mario and Max- teaching on Sunday,Changed to 3/12 9-9:50 am (5th grade)
• Elisa and Ukiah- teaching on Sunday, 3/12 from 9-9:50 am (1st grade- 1A)

Mrs. Giedlinski will have your skits and lesson templates to hand out the day you are teaching.

Family Formation Meetings

The church will be hosting family formation meetings for families of the church (who are interested in growing their faith and love of God) on February 27, February 28, March 1 or March 2. While the meetings are each two hours, we will be looking for student volunteers to meet with the children of the families and lead them in religious activities while their parents are meeting as a separate group.  Click on the link to register: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1c2ynAzmTp6cJq_81N4v_GhCsDgmi1Kt7wD1YVpomlL8/viewform?ts=63bcbb16&edit_requested=true   Deadline to register is February 1.

Living Stations of the Cross

This is a church event that will take place at 4 PM on Sunday, April 2 (Palm Sunday).  The students can either participate in acting out the stations, singing in the choir, or simply joining us as an audience member.  Students interested in singing would be singing with the Choir of St Lillian.  (The link provides a sense of the quality of the choir). Acting or singing would require two rehearsals during March and a call-time earlier than the performance on the day of the event.  We will share more information about the Living Stations and ask for volunteers at the February meeting.  If you are interested or have questions before then, please reach out to us. 

Spring Fundraiser 

We are looking into a fundraiser where we sell plants for either Easter or Mother’s Day.  Once we have the details we will share them with students and parents.
